Shared Security Services
Project Description
L&I’s Shared Security Services (SSS) project is an enterprise service security solution designed to manage authentication and access for all internal and external L&I applications. Cayzen provided the architect and led a team of four developers to gather and document requirements. The project included a high level vision and feasibility study done by the L&I LIFT initiative. Cayzen created the SSS architecture (shown below) based on loosely-coupled messaging architecture that incorporates loosely-coupled dynamic policy data providers, clue providers, and their integration into a SSS core rules engine. The technologies used in the SSS architecture included .Net, ASP.Net, and MQ Series. SSS drew data from mainframe Natural data providers and SQL Server. SSS includes a self-service registration interface available via the L&I public Web site. SSS features an ASP.Net Web administration interface that provides detailed management of shared security policies and business rules. This user interface also provides statistical reporting on shared security registration, sessions, and access logs.
